Withdrawal of cases against KFD, PFI activists : Muthalik threatens to file PIL

Mangaluru, June 11, 2015:  Sri Rama Sena Chief Pramod Muthalik has strongly criticised the state government for withdrawing the cases filed against KFD and PFI activists. He has also threatened to file a Public Interest Litigation against the state government in this regard.

 

 

Speaking to reporters in the city on June 11, Thursday Muthalik questioned the government decision at a time when the Kerala Chief Minister Oommen chandy has   sought a ban on the two organisations in a letter to the Union Government  after describing them as Simi organisations.

 Muthalik also  lashed out at the  Union Government for deciding to keep Suryanamaskara and Omkara out of the World Yoga Day programmes  on June 21.

He described as ‘fools’ those people who opposed Suryanamaskara and Omkara from Yoga Day programmes.  Stating that the Sri Rama Sena supported the World Yoga day, he said  it was being observed not only by the Indian Government but also by the United Nations. “Yoga is not based on any religion but should be considered from only the health angle,” he said.

Muthalik earlier attended the JMFC II Court for hearing in the 2009 pub attack cases. The hearing has been adjourned to July 29.  Only 13 out of the total 30 persons charged in the case appeared for the hearing.
