Winnifred Fernandes laid to rest with full state honour

Kundapur, May 01, 2020:   The last rites of senior Congress leader and former Kundapur MLA Winnifred Fernandes(91) were  performed at the Holy Rosary Church here on  Thursday in a  simple way in the presence of a few people in view of the lockdown. Winnifred had passed away on Tuesday.

 

The mortal remains were brought to the church from the residence of the late leader in a decorated vehicle. Fr Staney Tauro and Fr Arthur Pereira conducted the rituals in the presence of other priests and  Church Management Committee  Vice President Luis J Fernandes.

The former MLA was laid to rest  with full state honours. Kundapur ASP Hariram Shanker Circle Inspector Gopikrishna and others were present.
