Wilma Bantwal chosen for Kittall Yuva Puroskar-2012

Mangalore, Feb 21, 2013  : Wilma Lavina D’Souza,  a talented young writer who is popularly known as Wilma Bantwal, has been chosen for the Kittall Yuva Puroskar-2012. Kittall.com is a Konkani literary site managed by noted writer and critic Henry Mendonca who is widely known as HM Pernal and is a platform for young writers and talents.

She was selected for the Award by a jury  led by Titus Noronha, noted poet, Melwyn Rodrigues, Sahitya Academy winner and  Director (Operations ) of daijiworld.com and Guru Baliga, poet. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation. The award presentation ceremony will be held at Valencia Church Hall on March 2.

Wilma, an MSc first rank holder from St Aloysius College, is presently serving as a lecturer at Canara Engineering College, Benjanapadavu.

She has  so far authored over 75 articles and 50 poems and is the Editor of Ballok, a parish magazine of Infant Jesus Church.

She has also been in the editorial board Diocesan monthly magazine Amcho Yuvak and was the editor of the magazine of the Konkani Sangh of St Aloysius College. She is the first prize winner in the Rohan and Lavita Monterio All India Poetry Recitation competition organized by Kavita Trust this year.
