Mangaluru,Feb 17, 2017 : State President of JD(S) and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has said that withdrawing Yettinahole Project would be one of his priorities if his party was elected to power in the State Assembly elections to be held next year.
Speaking to reporters at Circuit House here on February 12, Monday, he also stated that development of the port in Mangaluru too would be given equal importance if his party comes to power. Exuding confidence of a JD(S) victory in the coming elections, he said there are indications of a few from other parties joining the JD(S). On the departure of senior leader SM Krishna from the Congress, Kumaraswamy said his party has not contacted Krishna nor has invited him to join the party.
On Yettinahole project , Kumaraswamy said as the project was given a go ahead during the chief ministership of Sadananda Gowda, the party has no right to protest against it now.
He said the party intends to strengthen its district unit and added that a core committee has been formed.
