Wild elephant spotted on road at Charmady Ghat

Belthangady, April 09, 2024: A wild elephant which was crossing the road near the ninth curve of Charmady Ghat was captured on camera and the video has gone viral.

 

The elephant was spotted at around 12 noon on April 8 and a bike rider who was unaware had a narrow escape just as the elephant crossed the road. Other motorists stopped their vehicles on either side to allow the elephant pass through.

 The elephant which remained on the road for some time later vanished in the forests at Neriya.

On Saturday night a plantation at Kalmanja was damaged due to wild elephant attack and it is believed that this was the same elephant.

It may be recalled here that a wild elephant was spotted in the ghat area two months ago too.
