Wife, paramour convicted for husband’s murder

Mangaluru, May 05, 2018:  The First Additional District and Sessions Court  as convicted  a woman and her paramour  in the case of the murder of the former’s husband  on April 19, 2014 at Kalanje in Belthangady taluk.


convicted.jThe convict Rudresh (32) was serving as a forestor in Kalanja.  It was said  he  had  illicit relationship with Amita  alias Devaki (42), wife of  the  victim Annayya Gowda. Both had hacked Annayya with an iron road  following which  Amitha had lodged a complaint with  Uppinangady Police claiming t hat three masked men who had entered the  house by breaking the back doors had murdered her husband.

However, police investigation revealed that  she had lied. Police then took her to custody for interrogation when the truth came to light that they had eliminated  Annayya who was a hindrance to their affair.

Puttur Circle Inspector Suresh Kumar had filed the charge sheet. A total of 36 witnesses were  heard and 39 evidences including blood stained clothes  were  produced before the court.
