Mangaluru, Sep 10, 2015 : A woman whose husband has been arrested by the police in connection with theft cases, has alleged that the police had implicated her husband and had also manhandled her while arresting him.
Speaking to reporters here, Shafika, wife of Muneer, the man who was arrested recently, narrated the different incidents wherein she and her husband were harassed by the police.
‘On May 22, the CCB summoned us to the station when I was nine months pregnant. After enquiring my husband, they asked us to vacate the flat where we were living lest they would drive us out. When I was admitted to hospital for delivery, my husband who wanted to be with me had to inevitably appear before court. But when he received news that the new born had to be shifted to ICU he rushed to the hospital following which a warrant was issued against him,.
‘The CCB has since then been harassing us and warning of filing more cases if we do not pay heed to them and meet the CCB chief privately,” Shafika alleged.
She said later her husband contracted Malaria and could not appear before court following which police personnel of CCB barged into their house and dragged them. “My attempt to record the happenings in my mobile phone was thwarted,” she said and alleged that her husband was jailed after filing false cases against him. She said she has some clippings which her son has recorded and that the same would be produced before court during hearing.
She claimed that she and her husband had been leading an honest life and that her children are unable to attend school as other students offend them. She also stated that she would fight for justice to her family.
