Mangaluru Mar 14, 2018: Renowned actor Prakash Rai has said that he feels a lot more empowered whenever a common man comes and talks to him.
At an interactive meet with media persons here on March 14, Wednesday Prakash Rai said he was not in favour of entering electoral politics and neither was he in favour of any political party. "I will speak against the party which endangers the country," he said. He further added that the communal mindset of the BJP has attacked him and dubbed communal politics as a "bigger cancer than corruption."
He also did not forget to highlight the role of media and added that he was raising his voice as a citizen of this nation. He also regretted that at times his remarks have been twisted and added that he had every right to question. Everyone has the right to question in the true spirit of democracy, he said. "Attempts are made to silence my voice through criticism and pressure tactics," Rai said.
He said he felt greatly disturbed when BJP supported Union Minister Ananth Kumar who spoke against the Constitution.
Regarding the court verdict on pub attack case, Prakash Rai said he wondered how the accused could be acquitted when there was so much evidence.
On some reports that he faced threats in Mangaluru, Prakash Rai said four men had questioned his car driver as to where he(Rai) was residing. However they left the spot on seeing the police, said the actor.
