When a lion came out of enclosure; Pilikula incident comes to light quite late

Mangaluru, Oct 04, 2021: It has come to light of late that a lion had come out of the enclosure at the Pilikula Biological Park on a day in July causing anxious moments. It is alleged that the neglect of the Park staff had led to this incident which luckily did not result in any casualty.

 

It is said that the incident occurred when a staff who had entered the enclosure for cleaning purposes had left another gate  unlocked resulting in the lion coming out. The worker had immediately informed about this to higher officials following which  Pilikula Director H Jayaprakash Bhandari formed three teams to trap the lion. After three hours of intensive search the lion was  found in the paddock behind its enclosure. It was immediately tranquilized and then left in the enclosure.
