Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, May 30, 2019: The administration has relaxed the water rationing system and has reduced the  period of stoppage of water supply from the existing four days to three days. As per the revised schedule water supply which was earlier supposed to resume at 6 am on June 1 will resume at 6 am on May 31.

WaterWater supply will continue upto June 4 at 6 am after which again it would be stopped for three days. This step has been taken following complaints of severe shortage of water in the event that water supply is suspended for four days successively.

Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil hoped it would rain in the first week of June so that there is water inflow in Thumbay dam which would facilitate suspension of the water rationing.

The DC also informed that dredging operations has commenced in Thumbay dam to remove the silt and to augment water storage in the near future.
