Watch Dharmasthala Temple kitchen on National Geographic Channel’s ’Mega Kitchen’

Mangaluru: June 22, 2015: Dharmasthala Temple’s ’Annapoorna Kitchen’ will be featured on National geographic channel ’Mega Kitchen’ starting from June 22.

The mega kitchen programme will be hosted by Manipal educated and ‘Michelin’ starred Indian chef, Cook book writer, Master Chef judge Vikas Khanna.

India’s Mega Kitchens’ will feature five biggest kitchens of the country - ’Annapoorna Kitchen’ Dharmastala, Akshaya Patra in Hubli, Shirdi in Maharashtra, Taj Sats in Delhi and IRCTC main kitchen in Noida.

Dharmasthala Manjunath Temple is Karnataka’s most famous temple, which feeds 50000 people a day. During the festive seasons the number of people coming here increases upto lakhs per day.

The food prepared in the kitchen is eco friendly. The whole set up is energy efficient and has a biogas unit.

Khanna told sources that, the technology and the process used in this kitchen to prepare large quantity of food is amazing. It is a whole new experience to see the chefs preparing the food with passion and heart.

The ’Mega Kitchen’ show will underscore the processes, volume and technology and other aspects used in preparing the food in the kitchen. The show will be on June 22, Monday and will be aired at 10 pm every Monday and Thursday.
