“As man becomes intelligent, he has forgotten the cleanliness. We have been engaged in haphazardly dumping garbage beside the road. People spit regularly at street corners, out of car windows, onto and even inside buildings. There is a need to constrain such activities. In this background, dustbins will be kept in KSRTC buses,” he said.

“Jana Jagruthi Vedike aims to free the society from bad habits. The bus drivers and conductors should dispose the garbage effectively,” he said.

‘Be cautious’  :   Chief Whip of the Government in the Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza said, “We have to be cautious on cleanliness.”

Mayor Kavitha Sanil said that the MCC has been spending crores of rupees for the solid waste management. The dumping of the plastic bottles and garbage has been choking the drains. The people have failed to cooperate with the civic body in segregating the waste at source.
