Vrikshotsava 2019 inaugurated at Town Hall

Mangaluru, Sep 24, 2019: Vrikshotsava 2019 was inaugurated at Town Hall on September 24, Tuesday by State minister Kota Srinivas Poojary. The event was organised by the Forest Department in association with various organisations.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stressed the need for public participation in environment protection.

Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath who presided over the function said   there was a plan to introduce urban forestry programme in the city under which there it has been proposed to grow trees in select areas with the help of public. He also stressed the need for  making rain water harvesting compulsory.
