Voting begins in DK; Candidates Mithun Rai, Nalin exercise their franchise

Mangaluru, Apr 18, 2019 : Voting for Lok Sabha elections has commenced in the DK District Constituency on April 18 at 7 am. Long queues of voters are seen at several polling booths. Congress candidate Mithun Rai exercised his franchise at the Balmatta Government Women’s college.

BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel, former MLA  JR Lobo were among the prominent voters who cast their votes early in the morning.


14% voter turnout in DK till 9 am

Mangaluru : With voting for Lok Sabha elections commencing, 14% voter turnout was registered until 9 am in Udupi district and 9.8% voter turnout in Udupi district.

 EVM glitches were reported in some polling booths including St Joseph’s Higher Primary School, Tiruvail ward and at a booth at Talapady. However, the same were rectified soon.
