Vittla: Miscreants attack people gathered for Meeting at Bhajan Mandir

Vittla 19 Oct, 2015: Miscreants from another community enter a temple at Ukkuda in Vittla on 18 October, Sunday in the evening and assault the people gathered for meeting.

The main accused is identified as Maimud, owner of a petty shop in Ukkudu. He was accompanied by Rajik, Hammeed, Ibrhim of Kuppepadavu, Sharif, Mustafa Shafi, Ubaid, Bilal, Zubair, Isac is said.

Cheluvaraj in his complaint stated that the meeting was held regarding the quarry work at Vishwakarma Bhajana mandir in Vittla. Suddenly a group of assaulters from different community eneterd the BhajanaMandir and attacked them. In this incident Eshwari (55) a Grama panchayat member and Chelvaraj (35) a worker were injured.

The quarrel was due to misunderstandings on construction of house at a government reserved site as the locals were against it, Maimud along with a group of assaulters attacked them  is said.

A case has been registered in Vittla police station.
