After his arrest on March 3, 2012, Vittala had attendance shortage and the university informed the court about it, adding that he cannot be allowed to answer his exams because of attendance shortage.

Before his arrest, Vittala had 80 percent attendance. Dinesh Hegde Ulepady, his lawyer, said that Vittala can now answer his exams in spite of the attendance shortage because of the court’s order, adding that he will be writing four more exams.
