Vijaya Bank burglary case: Gold hidden in sack recovered from unused well

Kasargod,Oct 4, 2015:  Huge quantit of gold  hidden in a sack was  recovered from a well in an isolated area in the  outskirts of Kasargod on October 3, Saturday by the Kasargod police. The exact quantity of the gold that has been recovered is not known.  Sources said it was the gold stolen from the Chervattur branch of Vijaya Bank recently.

 

The gold was recovered on the basis of the revalations made by  the four persons who were arrested on October 2, Friday.

Here it is worth mentioning that a cash of Rs 2.95 lakh and  gold weighing 19.75 kg were  stolen by the burglars who had drilled a hole into the floor of the bank’s  strong room through the ceiling of a room below.

The suspicion is tha the burglars had dumped the sack of gold inside the unused well while escaping.
