Mangaluru, Feb 13, 2015: Marialena Fernandes, a well-known pianist from Vieanna who has her roots in Mangaluru, will be on a three-day visit to the city beginning from February 13, Friday. She will be accompanied by the Austrai-German band Hotel Palindrone.
The team is scheduled to participate in a music awareness workshop for visually challenged kids of the Roman and Catherine School for the Blind. The programme is organised by Mangalore Coastal Round Table 190.
On February 14, Saturday at 6.30 pm they will present a concert at Kalangann at Shaktinagar under the aegis of Mand Sobhann. The music concert will be a fusion of European folk music and Konkani Mandos and Dekhnis. On February 16, Monday there will be workshop for students of Infant Jesus Joyland School, Bolar.
The parents of Marialena Fernandes are from Mangaluru, while she was born and brought up in Mumbai. She learnt piano in Vienna through a scholarship and worked as Professor of Chambermusic at University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She has given concerts in Russia, Venezuala and many nations.
