Victims’ families enraged at AI’s appeal against high court order

Kerala, August 13: The Kerala High Court had recently ordered that the families of the Mangalore plane crash victims should be paid Rs. 75 lakh each as compensation; but Air India has appealed against this verdict much to the rage of the plane crash victims’ families.

The Kerala High Court had delivered this verdict while hearing a petition filed by Abdul Salam of Kumble.


The furious members of the association of plane crash victims’ families said that the Vayalar Ravi, the union minister for civil aviation, Air India spokespersons, and many other leaders had welcomed the verdict of the high court. The decision of AI to appeal against this verdict has shocked the victims’ families, who have demanded that AI should immediately withdraw its appeal and pay compensation as ordered by the high court. 


A press conference was recently organized by the association of plane crash victims’ families, at which N. A. Sulaiman, the vice president of the Kerala Association of Travel Agencies, victims’ families, Abdul Salam of Kumble, Habib Ullal, and Pramod Nileshwar were present.
