Veteran Congress leader, former Kundapur MLA Winnifred Fernandes no more

Kundapur, April 28, 2020:   Veteran Congress leader and former Kundapur MLA Winnifred Fernandes passed away at her residence  at Kundapur Church Road on April 28, Tuesday afternoon. She was 92 years of age.

 

Winnifred who had made her foray into politics through the Praja Socialist Party  had even served as Kundapur TMC Chairperson. She later joined the Congress party and was elected MLA from Kundapur twice. She had also served  as an MLC.

Winnifred is survived by three daughters and three sons apart from innumerous well-wishers.
