Venkatesh IAS assumes charge as Udupi DC

Mangaluru, July 30, 2016: T. Venkatesh IAS, assumed charge as the 18th Udupi district  DC, Deputy Commissioner on  July 29,Friday. Priyanka Mary Francis, CEO of Zilla Panchayat, who was holding temporary charge since July 5, handed over charge to  Venkatesh at the  Udupi District Offices Complex.

 

DC  Venkatesh got inputs about the problems facing the district from government officers. CEO Francis explained issues related to sand extraction, deemed forest, housing schemes, drinking water, and so on to DC Venkatesh.

G. Anuradha, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Thippeswamy, Brahmavar Special Tahsildar, Kiran, Byndoor Tahsildar, T.J. Guruprasad, Udupi Tahsildar, Yogishwar, Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies, and others were present.

Background: DC Venkatesh IAS officer of the 2010 batch, was a member of the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal before being posted as Deputy Commissioner here. He began his career as Tahsildar in Afzalpur in 1986. He had also served as Assistant Commissioner at Sakleshpur, Chitradurga and Kollegal.

He has held several posts, including that of Additional Regional Commissioner, Bengaluru, Deputy Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Bengaluru, General Manager of Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC).
