Veera Rani Abbakka Awards presented to Sandhya S Pai, Urmila Ramesh Kumar

Mangaluru, Mar 04, 2019: Veera Rani Abbakka Awards were conferred on   Dr Sandhya S Pai, Managing Editor of Taranga for her contributions to the field of journalism and Urmila Ramesh Kumar,  entrepreneur, for her social service activities, during the valedictory of the two day ’Veera Rani Abbakka Utsava - 2019’ organized at Mogaveerapatna, Ullal on  March 3, Sunday.

 

Speaking  on the occasion, Sandhya Pai said she was happy to note that  the Abbakka Utsav in honour of the valiant queen is organised every year.

Urmila Ramesh Kumar in her address thanked the organisers for selecting her for the Award  and expressed her gratitude to the Gokarnanatha Temple Committee and other organisations in which she is involved and through which she carried out service activities.

Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil,  MLC Harish Kumar, ZP Member Mamatha D S Gatti,  Taluk Panchayat President Chandrahas Karkera and several others were present.

The event was organised by the DK District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Kannada and Culture Department and Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports.
