Mangaluru, Nov 24, 2014: Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrithi Vedike President K Shivaramu has said that his organization with the support of four religious heads will stage demonstrations condemning Made Snana practice in temples.
Speaking to media persons here on November 24, Monday, Shivaramu said the High Court ruling allowing the practice of Made Snana in its traditional form was very disappointing. He also made a request to the state government to pass an ordinance to ban Made Snana as well as Pankthi Bedha in temples.
L Shekhar, Dalit activist, Shashidhar Sangapura and others were present. The Made Snana ritual would be held at Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple on November 25,26 and 27 on account of Shashti.
Here it is worth mentioning that the High Court which had in November 2012 allowed a modified version of Made Snana named as Yede Snana as suggested by the then government, had in a recent ruling decided to permit Made Snana in its original form.
