VHP slams state govt for ‘Shaadibhagya’ scheme

Mangalore, Oct 31, 2013 : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has accused the Congress Government in the state of being partial by implementing the Shaadibhagya Scheme only for Muslim women.

Speaking to reporters here on October 30, Wednesday, P Ananthakrishna Bhat, District President of VHP said the  scheme of the government was  in violation of the Article 51 of the Constitution which says that ‘the state shall not discriminate.’

He said all citizens must be treated equally and that government schemes must be meant for all people irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) divisional president M B Puranik  who also spoke, came down heavily on the government’s Shaadibhagya  scheme.

Jagadish Shenava,  Sharan Pumpwell and other Hindu outfit leaders were present at the press meet.
