Mangaluru, May 30,2017 : Dinesh Pai, Gorakshak Pramukh of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, while welcoming the Union Government order banning cattle trade for slaughter has said that his organisation would hold a campaign to sensitize the public on the issue and would also request the officials to ensure that the rule was fully implemented.
Speaking to reporters here on May 30, Tuesday, he said the VHP will also urge the authorities to set up an Animal Market Committee so that the welfare of the traded animals is guaranteed. He also demanded that strict action should be taken against all those who flout the new rule and that they should also be made to sign a bond.
Pai said his organisation took strong exception to the Kerala incident wherein some Youth Congress workers slaughtered cow in public and distributed the meat after cooking it. He further demanded action against the accused under Section 295 of the IPC.
