VHP demands CBI probe into communal incidents in DK

Mangaluru, June 21, 2017 : DK District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai’s reported instructions to SP to arrest  RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker  as evident from a video clipping that went viral,    has snowballed into a major controversy with the BJP completely up in arms against it.

 Speaking to reporters here on June 20, Tuesday, VHP leader  M B Puranik said  Rai by pressurising the SP to arrest Kalladka Bhat, was only interfering in the functioning of the Police Department. He also accused Rai of misusing his powers.

The VHP has also demanded a CBI investigation  into all communal incidents reported in the district so that the truth is exposed.

He alleged that the Congress was  trying to take political advantage out of the incident and rued that the  general impression that was created is that the Hindu outfits are responsible whenever some untoward incident takes place.

Puranik also stated that the VHP would support the protest planned by the BJP at BC Road on June 24.

Hindu outfit leaders Bhujanga Kulal, Sharan Pumpwell and Gopal Kuttar were present at the press meet.
