Mangaluru: July 10, 2015: The Mangaluru city police has denied permission to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal to hold protest rally on July 13 at Nehru Maidan.

The decision was taken after a meeting was held by the Senior police officers in the presence of Deputy Commissioner in the city on Thursday July 10.

The protest ’Go Samrakshanegagi Sathvika Horata’ was announced by VHP and Bajrang Dal against police department for not taking any action against the illegal cattle traffickers and cattle slaughtering. Many cattle were stolen from by the miscreants and police were unable to catch the culprits. Around ten thousand people from parts of Udupi, Karkala, Puttur were about to participate in the event.

The Police authority has denied permission for the protest as it would lead to violence in the society, Keeping the law and order consequences in mind.

It is learn the at the Muslim organisation had urged the Deputy Commissioner and the police commissioner to deny permission as the protest has been called during the month of Ramadan and any hurting statement would create violence among people.

The VHP in the press conference had stated that the protest would be peacefully organized without hurting the sentiments of any other religion.
