VA, assistant booked in sexual harassment case of minor

Udupi, Oct 25, 2018: The Padubidri  police have arrested two persons including the village accountant of Hejamady gram panchayat on the charges of sexually harassing a minor girl. POCSO case has been slapped against them.

 

The arrested are Kumaraswamy (42) from Mandya and his associate Kishori (35). The accused was working as Hejamady VA since one year, The second accused Kishori was the former’s assistant and reportedly acted as a mediator. It has been gathered that the VA who had somehow secured the cell phone number of the victim when she had come along with her family members to him to rectify land documents, had since then been sending obscene messages to the girl. After the girl informed her parents, they in turn told the villagers who warned him. But when Kumaraswamy continued with his  acts, a police complaint was filed and he was subsequently arrested
