V 410 Interceptor sea craft launched for Indian Coast Guard

Mangaluru, Feb 01, 2018: The official launching of V 410 Interceptor Boat was done at Bharati Shipyard  Mangaluru,  on January 31, Wednesday. The sea craft  will serve the Indian Coast Guard.

Speaking during the launch, BDIL Chief Operating Officer and DIG (retd) Narendra Kumar said the company has built and delivered about 250 ships for Indian and over seas customers. Currently, the company has live orders for 26 defence vessels which are in  various stages of manufacture, he said.

Indian Coast Guard is a customer of BDIL and the company has delivered five interceptor boats till date. The last vessel was delivered on November 10, 2017 at NMPT. The V 410 launched today is expected to be delivered by February 20. The vessels will carry out anti-smuggling, anti-piracy and also protection and monitoring, along with providing communication link and escort convoys.

Indian Coast Guard Karnataka Commander DIG S S Dasilla said that a new journey has just begun and there is a long way to go for Indian Coast Guard.

Shilpa Koyar formally inaugurated the vessel. DIG Atul Parlikar, Bharati Defense and Infrastructure Ltd (BDIL) President and Shipyard Head Pavithram Alokkan and BDIL General Manager Mahesh M N were present.
