Crown  at Balmatta and Cameo at Urwa are the two firms which were raided. Crown  firm is a distributor for Tata Docomo SIM cards. The raiding police team have seized some documents.

It has been gathered that  Shivaprasad, one of the accused in the Vinayak Baliga murder case was using a SIM which belonged to  one Kareem who had died in May 2015. Ironically, documents revealed that the SIM was issued in October 2015, almost  five months after the death of Karim.

In another case, Charan murder accused  named Rizwan had in his possession a SIM card which was registered in the name of a 28 year old youth named Cleven Philip who was unaware that a SIM  in his name was used by another person. It has been gathered  that one Safwan had used his documents to get the SIM.

Here it  is worth mentioning that police had seized as many as 29 SIM cards from undertrials during their raid to the District Prison last week.
