Uppinnangady: Bus stand work taken up at last

Uppinangady, Mar 24, 2015:   Here the bus stand was in pitiable condition causing great difficulty to passengers. Now, concretisation work at Uppinnangady bus stand has started in response to a 10-year-long demand.  The bus stand which is in the limits of Uppinangady GP, was asphalted 12 years ago last.

At the  Panchayat meetings, demands were many times put forward to repair the bus stand. But, the work was sidelined due to lack of funds. GP president Nalinakshi said that the Panchayat has reserved Rs 20 lakh funds under the 13th financial commission for the bus stand. Rs 10 lakh will be earmarked for the other works.   The concretisation of the bus stand will be done at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.: :

Note Restrictions ordered :  Due to the fact the the works in progress can not allow for parking vehicles ;  government buses are to park as follows :

Parking is prohibited for vehicles other than the buses authorised  inside the bus stand.   Only one tempo going towards Puttur is allowed to park near Swasthik Wines.  Buses going to Puttur/Nelyadi are to be parked near Community Health Centre.  Buses going to Puttur are to be parked near the entrance of the bus stand.   Buses going to Belthangady should be parked inside the bus stand.  The co-operation of all concerned has been requested to insure the work taken up gets finished early.
