Uppinangady: Former PM Vajpayee’s ashes immersed at confluence of Netravathi-Kumaradhara

Uppinangady, August 26, 2018: The ashes of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee  were immersed at the confluence of Netravathi and Kumaradhara rivers here, also known as Dakshina Kashi on August 25, Saturday  by Udupi Chikkamagalaru MP Shobha Karandlaje, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA  CT Ravi and a host of BJP leaders of the district.

District BJP President  Sanjeeva Matandruru, MLAs S Angara, Harish Poonja, Bharath Shetty, Rajesh Naik, Vedavyas Kamath, ZP Chief Meenakshi Shantigodu and many others were present.

A vehicle carrying the ashes of the late prime minister had earlier travelled across the district  before arriving at Uppinangady.

Floral tributes were paid to Vajpayee’s ashes  at Sri Gorakshanath Jnana Mandir  at Kadri in Mangaluru, at Suratkal, Kaup, Udupi and Kundapur.
