Unlawful acts during New Year celebrations will face stern action, warns Police Commissioner

Mangalore, Dec 31, 2013:  Mangalore Police Commissioner R Hithendra who has issued a list of guidelines for New Year celebration, has warned of stringent action against  anyone resorting to unlawful activities on the pretext of New Year celebrations.

The Commissioner has also warned that no incident of moral policing will be tolerated as also indecent behaviour, vulgarity and consumption of alcohol at beaches.

Some other rules laid down by the department include : Ban on smoking and alcohol consumption in public places including parks, bus stops, railway stations etc.

 

Hotels, resorts, clubs or any groups  which wish to celebrate New Year must organise the programmes within their premises and end the show by 12.30 am.

The Police Department will have a task force which will keep an eye on all happenings. The Police Commissioner has also warned of strict action against those resorting to drunken driving.
