Underworld don’s aide and criminals nabbed by CCB police in M’lore

Mangalore, Aug 27, 2014 : Addressing a press meet here, City Police Commissioner RHitendra said,  Mangalore CCB sleuths on August 26 detained an accomplice of underworld don Vickey Shetty, along with other three  who were absconding in a few murder cases, at Bondel Pacchanady.

The arrested named are Rohidas alias Sharan alias Akash Bhavan Sharan (29) of Kavoor, Pavitra Kumar alias Pavi (26) of Kavoor, Sachin (30) of Bejai and Harsharaj alias Harshith (22) of Kulshekar Chowki.  specific information caused the arrests it was stated.  The accused were plotting a crime. The police have seized a country-made pistol, three bullets, a knife, a machete, mobile phones and a car from the accused.

Sharan is involved in 15 cases in various police stations in the district. In 2008, he was accused of murdering auto driver Farooq, and in 2009, an attempting to murder Khader and robbing him. In 2009, Sharan had allegedly raped an elderly woman at Yekkur and robbed her of valuables. He was one of the accused in the murder of Ramakrishna A S, administrator of KVG College, Sullia in 2011. He was arrested in 2012 and was released on bail. After releasing from the jail, he along with Santosh alias Santu, Gowrish alias Gowri, Gautam, Harshith and Akshay had murdered Kumar of Kavoor Mullakad and was absconding.

On April 7, 2013, at around 11.25 pm, Sharan had killed Prashant alias Pachu, near Mangala Bar, with the help of other Vickey Shetty aides Bhavanishankar, Naveen Shetty, Praveen, Bhavish, Pashu, Radhakrishna Shetty, Sachu alias Sachin and others. Pistol and swords were recovered from the spot and the case was filed in Mangalore South Police station.

In December 2013, he along with Shiv of Bajal and Akash Bhavan Rohit, Sharan had attempted to loot a wealthy person. Though the police had arrested others, Rohidas had managed to escape. Other two accused Sachin and Harsha Raj are also accused in murder cases.The police commissioner said that strict action will be taken against those who might have given shelter to Sharan.

Regarding Rasheed Malbari  :  The City Police Commissioner said that Rashid Malbari, an aide of Dubai-based underworld don Chota Shakeel, has jumped bail after he was released from jail. Malbari was arrested by the DCIB in 2009 when he had come to allegedly eliminate a few prominent leaders. An arrest warrant has been issued against him. There are several cases against him and an all out alert has been sent out.
