Undertrial prisoner Manjunatha dies in DK govt district hospital

Mangaluru, May 28,2017: Undertrial prisoner 7975 Manjunatha, son of Puttappa detained in Mangaluru district jail in connection with a case registered in Urwa police station, crime number 54/16 passed away at the Government District Wenlock Hospital.

Manjunatha, who was not well, was admitted to the jail ward of the Dist Govt hospital a senior city police official said. He was interned in the district jail on the file of the principal senior civil judge and chief judicial magistrate, Mangaluru on December 9, 2016.

He was charged under section 381 of Indian Penal Code. Manjunatha is said to have passed away on May 26, Friday afternoon at the jail ward of the hospital.
