Under trials accused of extorting Rs 15 lakh from bank manager in prison

Mangaluru, Jan 23, 2018: Sirin Madhusudan, Manager of the Kulai Branch of the Indian Overseas Bank who is presently in judicial custody in connection with the alleged diversion of Rs 55 crore belonging to Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd has been reportedly subject to torture by fellow prisoners who have even managed to extort Rs 15 lakh from the former’s parents.

The accused  have been identified as  Nikhil, Raju, Charan, Tilak, Mithun and three others. It is said Tilak belonging to the Kodikere gang and a few others were lodged in the same cell in which Madhusdan was lodged. It is learnt the accused had tortured Madhusudan and even attacked him when he refused to heed to their demand that he should share the siphoned  amount with them.  It is said unable to bear their torture, Madhusudan had once  asked his parents to come to the prison and through them paid the accused Rs 15 lakh in three instalments.

 Madhusudan’s parents have lodged a complaint in this regard.
