Ullal residents foil miscreants’ bid to disrupt peace on Tulasi Pooja day

Mangaluru, Nov 24, 2015 :  In an apparent bid to trigger tension on Tulasi Pooja day, two bike bound assailants   stoned the Koragajja Seva Samithi building  at TC Road near Tokkottu on November 23, Monday night and broke the window panes.

But, the aim of the disruptive elements  was thwarted by local Hindu and Muslim leaders who put up a united front and decided not to allow such incidents disturb peace in the area which  had witnessed untoward incidents in the recent past. They even prayed to the almighty to punish the miscreants.

Earlier, as soon as the incident took place, tension prevailed in the area with people starting to gather in the area. Even the Ullal police including ACP Kalyan Shetty, Inspector Savitra Tej and other officials rushed to the spot and pacified the gathering. In the meantime, Hindu community leaders including Bhagavandas, Chandrahas Ullal and others along with Muslim leaders including CMC member Farooq U H  arrived at the spot and  offered prayers in the same building seeking peace in the town.
