Ullal cops bust sex racket; arrest trio including woman

 Mangaluru, Aug 28, 2015: Ullal Police led by SI Bharathi raided a house a Someshwar and arrested three persons including a woman on the charges of running a prostitution racket. Two others who were in the house managed to give the cops a slip during the raid. Meanwhile, police constable Mahesh Gatti was injured when one of the  accused  assaulted him during the raid.

Those arrested  have been identified as  Mohammad Siraj (30) of Beeri, Rakesh (34) of New Uchila and a 35 year old married woman hailing from Asaigoli. Those who escaped are Jaffar of Mukkacheri and Abbas of Beeri. Both of them had jumped over the compound wall to escape.

 The police raided the place following a tip off from locals that a vacant house in the area was being used for some immoral activity. It is learnt, the police managed to apprehend the three with assistance from locals.

It has been gathered that constable Mahesh Gatti who tried to stop  one of the accused Rajesh from escaping was assaulted, but managed to get hold of the latter.He serves as a driver  for the station vehicle and is presently undergoing treatment in a hospital at Derlakatte.

Ullal police are investigating the case.
