Mangaluru Apr 27, 2016: Mangaluru police have succeeded in detaining one person in connection with the attack on Ibrahim Nafsan near Ullal while he was on way to old port in Mangaluru on April 25.
This was informed to media persons here by City Police Commissioner Chandrashekhar on April 27, Wednesday. The Commissioner said the accused has been identified as Shivraj alias Shiv (18) son of Kamalaksha, a resident of Kumpala. The Commissioner said the accused who is an electrician by profession was arrested by the CCB police near Talapady. Search is on for the other accused, he added.
He also stated that a special police team comprising ACP South, CCB Police and inspectors from Konaje and Panambur stations have been formed to nab the culprits. The Commissioner said 10 suspects have been questioned so far relating to the case.
Police Commissioner Chandrashekar assured to take strict action those who attack innocent persons and also to detain the master mind behind the attack as soon as possible.
As a precautionary measure Section 144 has been imposed in Ullal police station limits, the Commissioner said and informed that processions, possession of arms and weapons and moving around in groups of more than five are banned.
DCPs Shantharaju and Dr Sanjeev Patil were present.
