Ullal : Thieves burgle house of ex-MLA Idinabba’s son; decamp with valuables worth lakhs

Mangaluru, April 11, 2015: Thieves who broke into the house belonging to Badruddin, son of former MLA and renowned poet late Idinabba  at Mastikatte near Ullal have decamped with valuables worth lakhs of rupees.

The theft came to light when Badruddin’s family which had been away to attend a function returned home on April 10, Friday night at around 10.30 pm. The thieves had gained entry into the house by breaking open the back door and have looted a cash of Rs 40,000 and gold worth about Rs 8.5 lakhs from the cupboard.

Ullal Police have visited the spot. Finger print experts and dog squad too has been deputed.

This is the second theft reported from Ullal police station limits in the past two weeks.  Earlier thieves had stolen valuables worth lakhs from the house of one Saraswathi near Kolya.

 Locals complain that some thieves from other districts were even trying to take advantage of the heavy rush during the Ullal Urus.
