Ullal : Teacher behind bars for sexually harassing students

Mangaluru, Nov 26 2015: A teacher   of  the Nithyadhar English Medium School at Permannur near Ullal who was reportedly sexually harassing minor boys of the school,  was arrested by the Ullal police on November 25, Wednesday.

He has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012.

The arrest followed the complaint lodged by parents of a 12 year old boy, a student of the college who was victimised by the teacher on Wednesday despite stiff resistance from the boy.

The accused identified as Dolphy Sequeira (33)  was allegedly harassing the students for the past two years. He is a resident of Chembugudde and taught Social Science and English to students of sixth, seventh and eighth standards.

The allegation is that the teacher sexually harassed the students in the project room of the school  where no CCTV was installed. He is also facing the allegation of victimising students by taking them to his house on the pretext of giving tuitions.

Further investigations are underway.
