The protestors were also heard shouting provocative slogans. Stone pelting incidents too were reported when police tried to  prevent the protestors from entering Ulaibettu.

The organisers had planned to hold a protest meet at Parari Junction upon conclusion of the rally and had earlier even agreed not to enter Ulaibettu. However, things took a different turn when the rallyists tried to enter Ulaibettu.

Sources said  Sri Rama Sene leader Prasad Attavar,  HJV leader Satyajith Suratkal, Jagadish Shenava of VHP and others who led the rally, left the venue in vehicles when they realised that things were going out of control.

It may be mentioned here that a bundh is being observed on December 8, Monday in Vamanjoor, Ulaibettu and other nearby areas in protest against the December 5 incident.
