Ujire road accident claims lives of 2 bike riders

Belthangady, Mar 23, 2015 : Two persons lost their lives in an accident involving two lorries and a motor bike reported from near Ujire on March 22, Sunday evening.

The deceased are Harish (33),  a resident of Ballamanje in Machina and Sunder (32) of Kadirudyavar.

The mishap occurred when both Harish and Sunder were heading in their motorbike to Ujire from Somantadka. A lorry which arrived from the opposite direction collided against the bike near the Anugraha School throwing the two bike riders off guard onto the road. Meanwhile another speeding lorry heading towards Ujire ran over the two  bike riders. Though the two were immediately rushed to hospital, they breathed their last.

If Sunder was a mason, Harish was his assistant. The mishap took place when the two  were returning home from work. Both of them were said to be members of Dalit Sangharsha Samithi.

The police have booked Srinivas and Ashraf, the drivers of the two lorries.
