Ujire: Six-year old boy dies after surgery

Ujire: July 16, 2015: A six-year old boy fell from the JCB injuring his hand  and  died  after the surgery for the fracture in his hand. The incident came to light on Wednesday evening .


Child dies of doctor’s negligence


The deceased is identified as Kavan (6), son of Rajesh from Belthangady.  The   parents of the boy alleged that the boy died due to the doctors’ negligence.

It is said that on Tuesday, Kavan fell from JCB and had injured his hand. He was taken to a Private Hospital in Ujire for treatment. The doctor’s said he had a fracture in his hand and  has to undergo an operation .


The parents agreed to the doctor’s suggestion, but after the operation the doctor said the boy is having  a heart problem and has asked them to immediately shift him to Wenlock Hospital at Mangaluru for  further treatment. Unfortunately, the boy  breathed  his last on the way to Wenlock Hospital.

The  boy’s parents expressed  their anger against the Private Hospital in Ujire for the medical negligence. A case has been registered by Kavan’s father  in  Belthangady Police  station.

Kavan’s body was kept in the mortuary of Wenlock Hospital on Wednesday night.
