Ugly moral policing : Cattle transporters thrashed at Pumpwell

Mangalore, Feb 28, 2014 : In a  shocking case of moral policing reported from Pumpwell in the city on February 27, Thursday, a group of around 40 people brutally thrashed five persons who were legally transporting five cows in a vehicle.


cattle thefIt is learnt, the vehicle which was heading towards Kerala from Nelyady was intercepted  by the assailants who pulled out the five men from  inside the vehicle and beat them black and blue. Their pleas that they had all valid documents to prove that it was a legal transportation, fell on deaf ears.

Things came under control after the Mangalore Rural police arrived at the scene. The police later scrutinized the documents and confirmed that the cattle were being transported legally.

Those who were subject to attack were Shabeer (24), Cibi Cherian (44), Assam Sibilo (33), Dominique Topo (40) and Naufal (26). They were taking the cattle to  Pariyaram  to hand them over to Thangamma Sebastian who has purchased the same.
