Udupi youth BJP demands immediate hanging of Afzal Guru

Udupi, Dec 14, 2011: The youth wing of the Udupi District BJP organized a protest rally at Clock Tower on Dec 13 Tuesday condemning the delay in hanging Afzal Guru, who masterminded the parliament attacks of 2001.

The protestors wore Afzal Guru masks and yelled slogans against the central government, demanding that Guru should be hanged without any further delay.

Afzal Guru was sentenced to be hanged to death, following which he filed a mercy petition with the president of India. His petition, along with a dozen other petitions filed before his, are now pending with the president.

The terrorists had made an unsuccessful attempt to blow up the Parliament complex exactly a decade back.

Vilas Nayak, the president of the District BJP Yuva Morcha, along with Indira Shekhar, Geetha Shet, Kishan Shetty, Shiva Prasad, Shyam Prasad Kudva, and many others participated in the present.
