Udupi seers stand up for need to meet police demands

Udupi, June 01, 2016: The Udupi Paryaya Pejavara mutt seer Vishwesha Theertha Swami has warned that the proposed stir by the police personnel will cause danger to the people. “The police bear the responsibility of protecting law and order, and the citizen in the state, thus they should withdraw their strike, in public interest. The government, in turn, should respond to the fair demands of the police,” said the seer and stated he was confident of both parties listening to his suggestion.


udupi swami Shiroor mutt seer Lakshmivara Theertha Swami too, said that the chief minister should take immediate steps to fulfil the demands of the policemen, who have been striving day and night to maintain law and order for public welfare.

In a media release Lakshmivara Theertha Swami stated, “Karnataka Police are known for their honesty and sense of duty. They face many difficulties and deprivation. They are denied basic facilities they are eligible for. Hence, they are resorting to a protest. Normal life will be affected if they go ahead with a strike. Hence, the government has to fulfil their demands, Or else, the Shiroor mutt will support the stir by police,” it said.
