Udupi’s Yermal Rohit Hegde is Mumbai’s Addl Customs Commissioner

Udupi, July 03, 2015: Yermal Rohit Hegde having his roots in Udupi district, has been appointed as  the Additional Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai. Hegde who was earlier serving as Customs Superintendent  of Mumbai Port and Mumbai Airport, Cargo is presently posted at Nhava Sheva Port, Mumbai.

 

Son of late  Yenagudde Doddamane Chittaranjandas Hegde and Sanoorguthu Tara C Hegde couple, Rohit is an alumnus of Poornaprajna School Admar and  Govinda Dasa College Suratkal.

 A former national champion in athletics (400 meters race), Rohit Hegde has also taken part in several international events and could make it to the Customs under the Sports Quota in the year 1980.

He has also bagged the Chatrapati Shivaji Award for his achievements in the field of athletics. He is also actively involved in various organisations back in his hometown including Yermal Janardhana Temple Brahmakalasthosava Samithi and Uchila Sri Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi.
