Udupi faces ward-wise water rationing

Udupi, May 24, 2017: Reports say that the water stored in Baje dam had gone almost empty on April 29, water available in Shiroor, Manai Mutt lake, Bhandarybettu, Puttige mutt and other places were collected and judicially distributed by water rationing till date.

A press release from City Municipal Concil (CMC) president Madhava Bannanje and CMC commissoner D Manjunathaiah said that as the available water in the dam will be available for only seven days for Udupi, the ward-wise water rationing will be done henceforth.

The schedule for water supply will be as follows:

Kola, Vadabhandeshwara, Malpe Central, Kodavuru, Kalmadi, Kasturba Nagar, Sagri, Mooduperampalli, Indira Nagara, Chitpadi, Badagubettu, Indrali, Shiribeedu, Bannanje, Ambalapady, Ajjarakadu, Kinnimulki, Bailur, Volakadu, Tenkapete, Kunjibettu on May 24, 28, June 1 and 5.

Saralebettu, Ishwara Nagar, Manipal, Kakkunje, Karamballi, Moodubettu, Kodankuru, Nitturu, Subrahmanya Nagar, Gopalapura, Kadiyali, Gundibailu, Settibettu and Parkala on May 27, 31, June 4 and 8.

The regular water supply will be continued after monsoon arrives. Water supply will be carried out through tankers in the wards where the municipal council water supply is not accessible.
