Udupi: Yuva Brigade holds Kanaka Nade amid tight security

Udupi, Oct 23, 2016: The Kanaka Nade organised by the Yuva Brigade commenced at the Pejawar Mutt premises here on October 23, Sunday. Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt initiated the event by garlanding the state of Kanakadasa in front of the Kanaka Gopura. The controversial event was organised under the leadership of Chakravarthy Sulibele of Yuva Brigade.

Though initially the organisation wanted to take out the Kanaka Nade procession throughout the city, the police had refused permission to the same citing security reasons. The event was therefore conducted around the Rajangana, Goshala and parking lots within the Math premises.

As many as five cleanliness employees of the firm were felicitated on the occasion by Pejawar Swamiji. Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt was also present among others.

The administration had made tight security arrangements during the event.
